The Indesit SIXL145S Silver Washing Machine is a coup in design for Indesit, for a washer that has been around for a few years, it looks like the more recent LG large cylinder types. The Indesit is a medium load washing machine with a 6 Kg capacity drum and is ideal for family use, it is of standard dimensions so is just as at home in the dedicated kitchen space as standing in the utility room or garage.
The Indesit SIXL145S is also known as the Indesit Moon is a front loaded machine with 8 wash programmes to suit silks and delicates, wool, cottons, synthetics, there is the quick 30 minute wash and two temperature setting modes for colourfast or non colourfast garments. This appliance is a washer only so there is no drying function, however, the spin at 1400 rpm is designed to leave clothes as dry as possible before hanging. Indesit has kept the design simple, there are no complicated features, the washing efficiency is ‘A’ rated and the controls are kid proof.
Many people bought this washing machine for its futuristic design but as a whole it has had mixed reviews. Most people agree that it is an easy appliance to use, however, there have been issues with a build up of slime through lack of self cleaning and bad evacuation of waste water leaving bad smells, the 1400 rpm spin only works for certain wash programmes and there have been some mechanical issues. That said Indesit do offer a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty so must have faith in their product.
